I have a custom text field that I use for all of my library documents (poor man's tagging). I wish to modify a group in a batch. How do insert a string directly into the text field for all the chosen files?
Hmm not quite sure that I understand exactly but why don't you go into datasheet view for the document library, change the option and simply drag the value down like you would in Excel and this will quickly update the value of the chosen items.
I could be misunderstanding the question though....
I have 2 users, Martin and John I have 5 documents, all available to Martin and John. I also have 2 documents that are available to John only (Martin must not see them). To complicate matters... documents and and users, providing the same functionality of ‘replacing’ certain documents for certain users. How would you do this? My first thought was creating roles and configuring the roles... approach could I try? Any solution has to be security trimmed for the all important search function!
When typing text into a multiline rich text field, I want to put some hyperlinks in. How do I do that?
My organization is in the process of converting our intranet over to a SharePoint solution. Part of this intranet will be the movement and organization of all our internal documents. Currently, we have 11 pages of document links, each with its own subheadings. So far I have it set where each document has a custom field called "Page" with a check box list of all the document pages... items. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could accomplish this, either via CQWP or by different means? Goals/Requirements of Installation Allow Intranet documents to be maintained
A few days ago I submitted this question to stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3161708/sharepoints-new-folder-doesnt-ask-for-a-required-field I essentially have Web Part Connections filter some documents through a required field. I was having problems making that new field for the folders. I managed to do it with help from a user over there. It is all good and dandy, but now my problem is that whenever someone goes into the folder, the filter gets reset, and you're not able to re-select the same option you were just at. We were very confused for a few minutes when we were
How can I set a tooltip to field controls in edit mode? For instance when a user edit a article, hovering over TextField (or the title of the field) a tooltip with custom text will show. It would also be nice to fetch this text from resources.
I have a task list that has a single-line text column, a Status column and a Modified By column (among others). It appears that the default view has the single-line text column taking up all the room it can, making the status and modified by column go to 2-line formatting. I'd like to force the Status and Modified By columns to display on only one line, and let the single-line text go to 2-lines if it needs to. How would I go about getting the single-line text column to lose priority for space? EDIT: I did the cheap fix of making the column names larger, but would like a better solution
I would like to modify the default text in Subject and Personal message, on the page: http://(sharepoint)/_layouts/aclinv.aspx Where do I change the text? Thanks :-)
I am using SharePoint 2007 + Windows Server 2008 with SharePoint 2007's publishing portal template. I am using List Web Part with Data Sheet view. I want to know how to make a column as a URL link (i.e. show text in the cell, and can associate a link with the text in each row for the specific column), i.e. when user clicks the text in the specific column of a specific row, the user will be directed to the link associated the text.
