I wrote a web part that pretty much just grabs info from an announcements list on one site, and redisplays it on another. Everything pretty much works fine except when I edit the web part, in the properties panel, I don't have the option for audience targeting. Which sucks, because I need to target this web part.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
Note:SharePoint 2007, Visual Studio 2010, WSPBuilder
Have you tried reproducing this web part using a Data View Web Part in SharePoint Designer 2007? I believe DVWPs have Target Audience capability.
Can you put audience targeting on the list that you're consuming instead? I'm not sure if the targeting would flow down to the web part but maybe worth a shot.
I have a web part which I am trying to target to a specific audience (the 'Staff' audience.) I have the web part in the home page of a site that has anonymous access enabled. I have set the Target Audience of the webpart to 'Staff'. The idea is that anonymous viewers can't see the web part, but logged-in members of staff can see the webpart. This works fine, as long as I am browsing the site from the server on which SharePoint is running, using the internal domain name (e.g. http://localhost:5050/site). If I view the site home page while not logged in, I can't see the webpart
A few days ago I submitted this question to stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3161708/sharepoints-new-folder-doesnt-ask-for-a-required-field I essentially have Web Part Connections filter some documents through a required field. I was having problems making that new field for the folders. I managed to do it with help from a user over there. It is all good and dandy, but now my problem is that whenever someone goes into the folder, the filter gets reset, and you're not able to re-select the same option you were just at. We were very confused for a few minutes when we were
In my custom SharePoint 2010 web part, I am allowing the user to specify his information in a model dialog window. I then need to use this information in my web part code behind for further processing. But I am not pretty sure as how to read this information back in my managed code. Appreciate any help on this.
For all the Web Parts on my SP 2010 team site wiki page, the "Hidden" option is greyed out (under Edit Web Part > Layout). How can I activate this option?
returned or page through them. So I need the Search Paging and Search Statistics web parts. Now both of these require connecting to the Search Core Results web part (according to MS documentation), however when I try to add a web part connection in SharePoint designer I get an error dialog saying: The Search Paging Web Part does not support connections. So how can I connect these up? I cannot...This is my first time working with the search components of SharePoint in much detail so any advice would be helpful here. I have a custom search results page created to match our corporate intranet
I have a list on a Team Site-based (customised site definition) site collection. I want display its contents on the front page of the site in a web part with the list title and one field only in the detail display (in a boxed view) but remove the column header. There doesn't seem to be an option to do this in the edit web part dialogue. Is there some way to get rid of the column headers other than making a custom list?
I have main site and a subsite. I installed custom web part in bin and added Safe option to the web config. It works fine on main site but when I go via subsite - I get 403 error. Note - the subsite uses Forms auth. Main site (where it works) uses windows auth. Any ideas how to solve tihs one?
that is on the same page. Custom development through Visual Studio not an option in this case. I will need to be creative with Data View web part or perhaps connectable web parts. ...I am looking for a MOSS 2007 client side solution that will allow me to surface video links from YouTube etc for the purpose of presenting the most recent training content for the audience. I am thinking a CEWP and DVWP can help here. Right now, I use a Page Viewer Web Part of the home page. I need to update the link property every time with the current video link. Not bad, but what about
On MOSS 2007 SP2, I have an announcement list that had audience targetting enabled. Users have email alerts set on that list for when new items change. The email displays the tartget audience as a guid - is that normal? I tried to google for the information, but the closest I could find talks about the problem showing up in the version history.
