  • Customizing SharePoint Server 2010 Survey "Fill-in" Question Psycho Bob

I am working with a SharePoint Server 2010 survey that contains some questions about allow fill-in responses. Is there a simple way to change the wording of these fill-in questions? Instead of "Specify your own value," I would like them to say something along the lines as "Other" (per project sponsor request).

I found this in regards to the WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007 customization:

However, it seems to me that there should be an easier way to change the wording of this question without having to edit the default master page.

  • This is one of those cases were I like to use jQuery to modify the rendered html without any impact to the MasterPage or centralized templates. It should only take a simple selector to identify the container, and swap out the "Other" content with the desired label.

  • I have created a simple survey with SharePoint Server 2010 with the intent of allowing all our domain users to access and complete it. I added some basic branching logic to this survey as well and set Domain Users as Site Collection Members. When one of these users tries to take the survey, the see a list of questions up to the question with branching. After selecting their answers... possible. Can anyone tell me what I may have misconfigured or need to change? Update I've worked with the problem a little more. If I just create a survey with one question using only a yes

  • Even though SharePoint 2010 introduces so many great features, I am sure that at some point people will feel that things are missing, or aren't not working the way they hoped it would work - which in turn creates opportunities for 3rd party product developers to fill in the gaps. What do you think is missing?

  • I am wanting to access survey information via the Lists web service and display the questions contained in the survey. The result contains a large number of Field nodes some of which are the questions in the survey. The other fields contain other information such as author, last changed etc. How can I pick out the questions? I had thought that all non-questions would be hidden but this is not the case. Here is my code as it is at the moment. It returns about 16 items. The survey has 6 questions... // read question definitions string[] HandleTypes = new string[] { "Number", "DateTime

  • I am trying to use the Lists.asmx service to gain access to surveys on a Sharepoint server. I would like to be able to list all of the surveys without showing all the other kinds of lists there. The idea is to select a survey by name (not GUID) and to then evaluate the responses. I am hoping that the web service will provide information about the questions too - multi-choice, rating range, data type etc. Can anyone help here? Thanks

  • When a user tries to respond more than once to a survey that does not allow more than one response, the user gets a SharePoint error page saying "You are not allowed to respond again to this survey". Is there a way to customize this page to have the same look and feel of the site rather than the default SharePoint error page.

  • My problem precisely and concisely is that I developed a simple web part to display OOTB Surveys on the page (Which means user can answer and submit the survey through my web part). It works correctly. BUT when I add the web part two times, then, User will not be able to submit any of them. Simply because when s/he answer the first survey and click Submit-Button, the required field validation... submitted and the Page will display “Please fill the fields of Quiz”. Question: How can I submit the Voting without being affected by other instances? Thank you, and I would greatly appreciate your

  • . Unfortunately it came back this morning. UPDATE As I was writing the question I had an idea. I visited the survey overview page and tried the webservice again. It worked!! Going to the list of surveys page...); System.Console.WriteLine(meta.Title); } } } As you can see, I fetch all the lists using GetListCollection and then, if it is a survey, I try to get the List...; uint count = client.GetListCollection(out lists); foreach (_sList list in lists) { if (list.BaseType == "Survey") { System.Console.WriteLine
