When you click Modify Navigation we will be able to see AreaNavigationSettings.aspx, where we will be able to customize the CurrentNavigation and GlobalNavigation. i want to include a new node of Navigation in the tree for eg: SecondLevelNavigation, Where i will attach a provider and should be able to hide/Add link using the tree control.
Is there any way i could achieve this / or is there any other solution
Thanks in Advance
This page is a _Layouts page, so you can't modify it without invalidating your support :/
What you could do is build your own page for this (copying the existing one is fine), then use a feature with CustomActions to remove and replace the links to the current page with links to the new page you're creating.
However, you're likely to have to write your own version of the HierarchicalListBox - which is in the microsoft.sharepoint.publishing.internal.webcontrols namespace. It's internal, and largely undocumented - if could be tricky.
Is it possible to use the Content Query web part to filter on multiple specific content types that do not have a parent/child relationship? I have a requirement to show Events (from a calendar) and Announcements (from an Announcement list) aggregated in the same area but as these come from two different branches in the content type tree, I can't do this via configuration of the web part. Would I be able to do this with a custom CAML query after exporting/re-importing the web part xml? Also I noticed the following two XML clauses in the webpart.xml file: <property name="ContentTypeName
Is there an upper limit to the number of item that are displayed in the Navigation Editing and Sorting control in the ‘Site Navigation Settings’ page? I have 49 items in the global Navigation and 54 items in the Current Navigation (most of which are hidden). I’ve added a new page to the pages library and I’d like to hide it from the navigation menu, however it’s not showing in the Navigation Editing and Sorting control. This made me wonder if there was an upper limit to the number of items that are shown.
navigation solution for the site. And I want to know if there is any advice or document for me to follow-up in order to setup the navigation solution. In more details, my requirement is: In the top global navigation area, I want to display top categories (car, computer and book) on the left navigation area, I want to display the sub-category for the selected top category from top global navigation area, for example, if computer is selected, I want to display sub-category on left navigation area, like laptop/server/netbook when user clicks a sub-category on the left navigation area, I want
I have an External List over a products table in our database. I want to be able to build a search form over it via a full text search; in addition to being able to filter down on properties on my initial search. For example, say I'm looking for DVDs under 10.00 in product DB. I want to be able to have a search box where I enter "DVD OR Movie", but I also want to be able to have a price box where I could enter a max price of 9.99. My impressions of SP2010 search solutions is that its easy enough to perform a full text search over an EL with Search Services, but at the same time being able
Every where I'm reading about setting up Excel Services for delegation so that it can connect to Analysis Services running on separate server is based around using Claims based authentication to authenticate to the web application. However, right now we are using Classic Mode Authentication, and I can't find ANY information on how to set things up in this scenario. Is it even possible to get this going without using Claims Authentication?
Cross-posted from http://serverfault.com We have a SharePoint 2007 server (Windows 2003) for development which fails to provide access via SMB administrative shares like \server\c$. I can use \mywin7\c$ backwards from a terminal session on that server. Looking at the packets I see that the \server\share requests are handled by IIS 6 which renders http status 501 Not Implemented in response... We have taken over a site where My Sites are placed in the Intranet web application. I want to migrate the My Sites to a dedicated host site. From what i have been able to find out so far, I will need to do an STSADM -o backup of each personal site and restore it into the new content database. I will be automating this process using PowerShell. Has anyone tried this? Any caveats i need to be aware of? Since i need to move site collections out of an existing content database into another, as far as i can see i cannot use a simple SSP migration. Any help appreciated :-) EDIT: I wrote
it that way due to SO encoding, but you hopefully get my drift). This latter means the xsl:apply-templates for the hit highlighting stuff is not able to process the XML, since it's really a string rather than a tree. I've verified that it isn't the later steps of loading into a DataTable/obtaining XML/transforming which is the issue - it's coming back from the search API like this. Any ideas why...; resultTables = keywordQuery.Execute(); } After this, I load into a DataTable and eventually get XML to transform. Currently I'm using the default XSL from the CoreResultsWebPart
is configured to allow the workflows to be initiated. I cannot seem to find any aspect of SP groups or users or permissions which would affect a user's ability to initiate workflow from one workstation but not another. Am I looking at some Active Directory / Windows Domain permissions issue here? Has anyone seen this kind of issue where Workflow execution ends in Stopped status, but only...Using WSS 3.0 running on SBS2008. I have an Infopath form library, to which I have used SharePoint Designer 2007 to attach a custom workflow. It's a pretty normal workflow which updates a property
