I am using SharePoint 2007 Server x64 on Windows Server 2008 x64. I create a new SharePoint web application with a new site collection at the root of the web application. I select the template "publishing portal" for the site collection. I have also enabled anonymous access.
Now the basic function is fine, except that I do not know how to change the first front page (i.e. the page showed to end users who have not logged in yet) of the site. Here is a screen snapshot. Any ideas how to edit this page?
BTW: I have tried to edit the default.aspx after login but anonymous users could still see content like in the following list. How do I remove this for an anonymous user?
Enable anonymous access You must enable anonymous access on the site collection for the forms authentication logon page to work from Office SharePoint Server. Contact your administrator to have anonymous access enabled in Central Administration and IIS. Manage navigation Change the navigation links in this site. Go to master page gallery Change the page layouts and master page of this site collection. Manage site content and structure Reorganize content and structure in this site collection. Set up multilingual support Use the variations feature to manage multi-lingual sites and pages. Add users to the Approvers and Members groups Users in the Approvers group can publish pages, images, and documents in this site. Users in the Members group can create and edit pages, and they can upload images and documents, but they cannot publish the pages, images, or documents. Workflow is enabled in the Pages library, and content approval is enabled in the Documents and Images libraries.
I have a custom master page, custom.master, for a publishing site. It was working fine, however I just enabled anonymous access to the publishing site, and now browsing to the home page... on each page.) If I disable anonymous access again, forcing me to log in before accessing the page, there are no errors and the page loads fine. To enable anonymous access I enabled it at the web application level, and then for the publishing site -- I chose anonymous access for 'entire site'. I guess it must be a permissions thing, but I have no clue as to what! Any help appreciated.
I have a web part which I am trying to target to a specific audience (the 'Staff' audience.) I have the web part in the home page of a site that has anonymous access enabled. I have set the Target Audience of the webpart to 'Staff'. The idea is that anonymous viewers can't see the web part, but logged-in members of staff can see the webpart. This works fine, as long as I am browsing the site from the server on which SharePoint is running, using the internal domain name (e.g. http://localhost:5050/site). If I view the site home page while not logged in, I can't see the webpart
the same master page and top-level navigation, and Company and Products will each have a left-placed submenu to go to each page in their section. I'm wondering how to structure this in terms of sites...I am developing a company website/portal in SharePoint, and am trying to figure out the best way to organise it into site collections, sites and subsites -- I'm confused by the terminology I think. The site has a public-facing Internet presence which is to be managed via the Publishing WCM features of SharePoint. Behind the scenes there will be some portal features, such as personalised
I have created a simple survey with SharePoint Server 2010 with the intent of allowing all our domain users to access and complete it. I added some basic branching logic to this survey as well... and clicking the "Next" button, they receive an Access Denied error. Thinking that the branching may have been causing an issue, I removed it. The users can now see the whole survey at one time, but when... possible. Can anyone tell me what I may have misconfigured or need to change? Update I've worked with the problem a little more. If I just create a survey with one question using only a yes
I can think of is to have another timerjob that polls some kind of queue (for example a sharepoint list in my site collection) for new timerjobs to create, and creates it if an item has been added...I have run into a problem several times now where I have developed a custom timer job, and I want my site collection administrators to manage the schedule of this job with a custom application page... that the App pool user for your content web application does not have write access to the Config database, you can't create new TimerJobDefinitions from code that runs in your content web app. A bad
does not work. (http://localhost/_vti_bin/listdata.svc/List hangs indefinitly) Livewriter can not connect to blog site opening office documents in edit mode gives access denied, but they can actually be opened. For applications using SharePoint web services we will extend the web application and have an internal url with only Windows authentication enabled. ...We recently migrated some applications from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010. The application uses the SiteData.asmx web service. After the migration there are Access Denied errors, withtout any
I am using SharePoint Server 2007 x64 and Windows Server 2008 x64. I have setup a site with template publishing portal. I have grant anonymous access to all the site. I want to design a two layered navigation solution for the site. And I want to know if there is any advice or document for me to follow-up in order to setup the navigation solution. In more details, my requirement is: In the top... navigation area, for example, if computer is selected, I want to display sub-category on left navigation area, like laptop/server/netbook when user clicks a sub-category on the left navigation area, I want
I have created a new Publishing Site on a newly installed SharePoint 2010 on my local Win7 box. The front page of the Publishing Site has an option to "Enable anonymous access" When I access that link there are three radio button options with "Nothing" selected. The other radio buttons for "Entire Site" and "Lists and Libraries" are disabled and cannot be selected. Why is this disabled? How do I get them enabled? Thansk
I am using SharePoint Server 2007 x64 and Windows Server 2008 x64. I have setup a site with template publishing portal. I have grant anonymous access to all the site. My question is, if I create a new page, how do I grant permission to an anonymous user to access (read permission) the page? I got confused because for the permission setting of a page, a permission is set according to a user name (e.g. read permission for user "foo" of a page). Since anonymous user does not have a related "user name", how could I grant read permission to anonymous user? BTW: I use Windows Forms authentication
