I have two lists (List A and List B) that were created from the same list template.
The Dispform for List A was customized (some fields were cut out and others were rearranged). The customized Dispform works perfectly with List A.
I’ve copied the customized DispForm to the folder for List B (List A and B were created from the same template) and then connected the customized DispForm through the Supporting Files tab on the List Properties dialogue box for List B.
However, when I try to display the data in List B, I get the following error: “Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator.”
I’m guessing this has something to do with customized DispForm having some code in it that prevents it from pulling in data from List B.
I’m using WSS 3.0 and SharePoint Designer 2007.
Any help with this problem would be appreciated.
It has been awhile since I have done this sort of thing, but I am pretty sure the list GUID is set within the DataForm and needs to be updated. Even though both lists were provisioned from the same template, they still have unique GUIDs. It should be set near the top of the form definition code.
I am using SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise with Windows Server 2008 Enterprise, and I am using publishing portal template. I am using SharePoint Designer 2007 to import a list to a web page by using Data View -> Insert Dataview, I find when the list is from the same site, it is ok; I find when the list from child site, there is error like (I drag the list directly to get all the content, no additional sub-filter on the list), The server returned a non-specific error when trying to get data from the data source. Check the format and content of your query and try again. If the problem
A few days ago I submitted this question to stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3161708/sharepoints-new-folder-doesnt-ask-for-a-required-field I essentially have Web Part Connections filter some documents through a required field. I was having problems making that new field for the folders. I managed to do it with help from a user over there. It is all good and dandy, but now my problem is that whenever someone goes into the folder, the filter gets reset, and you're not able to re-select the same option you were just at. We were very confused for a few minutes when we were
Scenario: We have an internal application that ties Excel spreadsheets stored in a SharePoint doc lib with specific Opportunities in CRM. The user clicks on a button in the Opportunity and a Web... into it. Either way, it then opens the file in Excel. The code to open the file is some client-side script that figures out the location of the Excel file in SharePoint, sets an href variable to that URL.... Note that this is just opening the Excel file without checking it out. Problem: Once in a while, and for no reason I can figure out, a user will click the button and the spreadsheet will be returned
From SharePoint Designer it is possible to modify the edit and display list forms. From the ribbon in ListSettings tab select Design Forms In InfoPath and choose the content type you want to modify forms for. InfoPath will open with a generated form and the form can be modified. My question is when you publish the form from InfoPath to a SharePoint List is it posible to export the list and import it to list in SharePoint Foundation or are the forms dependent on InfoPath ?
I am using SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise with Windows Server 2008 Enterprise, and I am using publishing portal template. I am using Insert Data View function from SharePoint Designer 2007 to insert a list created in parent site to a child site. Now the list displays correctly. My question is, how to hide the column name (displayed at the top of list content rows) in my child site (I want to show the list rows only, no need to show the list column name)?
I try to create a new list in SharePoint 2010 with AddGallery.aspx and the Silverlight app gives me An unhandled exception occurred in the Silverlight Application right when I click the "Create" button. Here is some additional info: Same error across all sites Same error with all types of lists Same error with IE8, Chrome and FireFox Creating the list with SharePoint Designer works fine I have tried recycling the application pool It's a fresh Install; there are no custom solutions deployed I have no idea what could be the source of the problem.
in the pages library. Could someone try this for me – to see if it’s a problem on my machine or some weird behavior from Sharepoint? .... For instance… If I add a user into the Designer site permission group I can create pages – excellent, just as I would expect. If I create a new site permissions level - let’s call it ‘customer-designer’ - by copying the Designer site permission level and then assign this ‘customer-designer’ level to a new site permission group. I then add my user into the new group and… I cannot create pages, even
have list of sites and sub-sites with URL's. More details: Let me describe one solution I have now. I’ve found tool Data Juggler (http://www.djuggler.com/) which can automate repetitive web tasks... for now I have some solution, but it is “like scraping your head behind left ear with right hand from back of your head…” I am looking for something more elegant. ...Where is information about users associated with specific SharePoint site stored? I guess information is stored in relational database. To be more specific i want to ask if it is possible to query
