Every where I'm reading about setting up Excel Services for delegation so that it can connect to Analysis Services running on separate server is based around using Claims based authentication to authenticate to the web application. However, right now we are using Classic Mode Authentication, and I can't find ANY information on how to set things up in this scenario.
Is it even possible to get this going without using Claims Authentication?
I have uploaded an xlsx file that I would like to use EWA to display using Excel Web Services. I have confirmed that the site is a trusted location and Excel Web Services is configured correctly from Central Admin. A simple spreadsheet works fine and renders in browser. However, for one particular worksheet I get an error when I try to point the EWA web part to it. It is indicating that it contains the following features that are unsupported by Excel Services. The error references sharepoint lists as the feature not supported. What is SharePoint Lists referring to? I removed the data

Is there a way to fully enable the old web services with claims based authentication? Update The real issue is Multiple Membership Providers not really working in a lot of situations. We have to following issues: legacy web services do not fully work. odata... be opened. For applications using SharePoint web services we will extend the web application and have an internal url with only Windows authentication enabled.
I have a two machine set-up, with MOSS 2007 installed on one server (Machine A), and SQL Server 2008 installed on the other (Machine B). In order to run SS Reporting Services in SharePoint integration mode on Machine B, I've read that I need to perform a minimal install of SharePoint on Machine B, and am wondering why. From a couple of error messages I see that it seems like Reporting Services in integration mode makes use of the SharePoint Object Model, but I haven't explored any further. Has anybody else had problems with Excel Services in SP2010? I am trying to programmatically access Excel web services. To connect to Excel services, I am direct linking to the Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.WebServices.dll. The code I am using looks something like this: Status status; ExcelService service = new ExcelService(); string id = service.OpenWorkbook("http://server/ExcelDocLib... for SharePoint 2010. This exact same code works fine running under SharePoint 2007 with IIS in classic mode. I would appreciate any advice.
How do you set up Excel Services for SharePoint 2010? I’ve installed the Office Web Apps (wcsetup.exe) and created a new Excel service in central administration. But I’m now stuck on what to do next - do I need to turn it on in a document library?
We have a SharePoint 2007 deployment which will have a substantially large document library. My client wants the ability to export this library to an Excel spreadsheet, but specifically wants the ability to divide the spreadsheet into several worksheets based on a specific field. Is this possible to accomplish in WSS 3.0, through the object model or otherwise? I am trying to pull data from the list.asmx web service from a console application. I am using clams based authentication, and whenever only integrated Windows Authentiation is checked everything works fine. Whenever I also check Enable Forms Based Authentication I start getting an Acccess is denied error when I try to connect to the service. I can login successfully using FBA so I don't think the problem is caused by the FBA configuration. Does anyone have any ideas to what might be causing this?
I have successfully configured a SharePoint farm of 4 nodes but I got intermittent database connection failure errors. I have to restart SharePoint services and IIS to fix the database errors.
