  • Use Term Store as a Filter Webpart Mike Oryszak

I have a couple of libraries that share a term store field for Clients. I put two list views on a page and planned on using the term store navigator to filter the lists, but couldn't find it in the filter section or any of the other available web part categories. Is it not available? Seems strange to not have access to it outside of a regular library.

  • I can confirm it doesn't look like taxonomy field made it to filter web parts. I think its called an ISV opportunity ;-)

Maybe its somehow related to my question: Taxonomy field doesnt always show up in CQWP filter

  • Using the following code I should be able to access the Taxonomy Term Stores: $site = new-object Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSite("http://localhost") $session = new-object Microsoft.SharePoint.Taxonomy.TaxonomySession($site) $session.TermStores.Count Yet the TermStore count is always 0. I know I have Term Stores and Term Groups and Terms because I'm able to tag items using the terms and view them in the Term Store Management Tool. For the SPSite I have tried localhost, the actual computer name, and even the Central Admin site. Based on my research this shouldn't be that difficult. http

  • Is there a best practice, or limit regarding the maximum number of items in a term set? I did a quick test, and imported 50,000 items using the import tool (all items with the same parent). I got an error during upload, and when I looked at the resulting term set only 9996 items was imported.

  • A few days ago I submitted this question to stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3161708/sharepoints-new-folder-doesnt-ask-for-a-required-field I essentially have Web Part Connections filter some documents through a required field. I was having problems making that new field for the folders. I managed to do it with help from a user over there. It is all good and dandy, but now my problem is that whenever someone goes into the folder, the filter gets reset, and you're not able to re-select the same option you were just at. We were very confused for a few minutes when we were

  • merge also) 2 different sources: Item list Document library I've got one of the columns of the document library matches the column of the item list (it's actually a lookup) I can query and filter correctly without any problem. The issue comes when I try to filter by column headers. Usually I'm able to get a dropdown with 'suggested' column filters. When you join the tables, this is no longer... in the iframe: _layouts/filter.aspx?ListId={YOUR-LIST-ID}&FieldInternalName=DocIcon&ViewId={YOUR-VIEW-ID}&FilterOnly=1&Filter=1 I can't seem to capture the one that get's sent though when

  • I have a FAST Search site collection and, in results.aspx, I'm trying to configure the 'Refinement Panel' web part so it displays my custom taxonomy which I've created in Managed MetaData service. If I edit this web part I can see in the "Filter Category Definition" the line: <Category Title="Managed Metadata Columns" Description="Managed metadata of the documents" Type... search for, the occasional custom metadata field does appear. But why does just that one term appear and not the rest? My documents in the search results have plenty of metadata values associated

  • I have pages in a pages library on a publishing site which have a managed metadata (taxonomy) field in their content type. I want my custom search webpart to read the taxonomy set on its parent page (I can do this fine) and then query against a specific scope using only the selected tags of the parent page as the filter (no keyword necessary). I have tried to set FixedQuery = “owstaxIdMetadataAllTagsInfo=#0[TERM GUID]” of my CoreResultWebPart with no success... I actually gave up after I was getting 0 results and am now trying to just perform a FullTextSqlQuery. Unfortunately it seems

  • I'm working on a filter web part inherited from another developer and it's the first time I've worked on them. It currently allows for a single filter and another filter needs to be added.
