I am using SharePoint 2007 Enterprise + Publishing portal template + Windows Server 2008. I want to add a list with two columns, one column displays picture, and the other column displayes rich text.
I did not find a way to display picture itself into a list (picture type column of list seems only add a link of picture to the column, not the picture itself). Any ideas how to implement? And is it possible to implement paging on list -- e.g. display 20 items on each page, and if 100 items, display by 5 pages (end user could use page-up and page-down to control paged view)?
You can create a Content Type with the Picture Content Type as a parent and create a site column for your rich text field. Then you can create a picture library and select to manage the Content Types and change it to your new custom content type and select the fields that you want.
This way, you will be able to create a view of your list with the picture (that will be uploaded as the item is created) and your rich text field. You can also customize this view to page as you prefer. I don't know a way to be able to use the page up/down control, but you can use a jQuery script that can modify the size of the paging commands so that they will be easier to see and use.
An alternative could be to add a calculated column that renders some html, for example an img tag with a src attribute that references the values of another field on your list.
I have a lookup column in multiple lists that points to a list of dates. These dates go in ascending order, and since the list posts are sequential, the older dates start to become irrelavent, forcing users that add new list items to scroll through to the bottom of the drop-down box to select the lastest date. As you can tell this can be very tedious, all I need is for the lookup column to sort by DESCENDING order, and I've tried fooling with the lookup list's view, but I think it disregards the view and only looks at the list items. Any thoughts?
In SharePoint 2007, if I had 2 lists with a master/detail type relationship (via a lookup column) how would I best implement a search query across these 2 lists (for a custom search and results page). For example a Project list and a Task list where you might want to search by Project ID, Name, Owner and Task Dates. The results would display all matching Project/Tasks in a paged grid. Is it possible to do this in CAML (I believe the answer is no!) or do we need to run separate queries against both lists and then match them up in C# somehow. There must be some proven methods for this sort
I am using SharePoint 2007 + Windows Server 2008 with SharePoint 2007's publishing portal template. I have created a list with datasheet view on a page (I add the list by adding a Web Part -> then select the list control to add it as a web part to the page.) When create the list, I have added 5 columns, and inserted some rows. My question is, how to remove one column of the list?
I am using SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise with Windows Server 2008 Enterprise, and I am using Publishing Portal Template. I am developing using VSTS 2008 + C# + .Net 3.5. I have defined a custom list manually on a SharePoint site (all column types of the custom list are SharePoint built-in types), and I want to define some customized rules to filter this list to display only a part of the list. Any reference code? EDIT1: Here is my current code. I have used such code to retrieved the items I need, but how to display the retrieved items in a SharePoint list? SPSite
I have a document library with a document template (docx) in which several Quick Parts are defined. The Quick Parts link to column data in the document library. How do I create the document by filling in the column data on a NewForm, thus without opening the document template itself? Thus: Click new -> go to a page with the NewForm -> fill in the fields -> click OK -> Voila a new Document in the library with the provided metadata.
I am using SharePoint 2007 + Windows Server 2008 with SharePoint 2007's publishing portal template. I am using List Web Part with Data Sheet view. I want to know how to make a column as a URL link (i.e. show text in the cell, and can associate a link with the text in each row for the specific column), i.e. when user clicks the text in the specific column of a specific row, the user will be directed to the link associated the text.
I have a list on a Team Site-based (customised site definition) site collection. I want display its contents on the front page of the site in a web part with the list title and one field only in the detail display (in a boxed view) but remove the column header. There doesn't seem to be an option to do this in the edit web part dialogue. Is there some way to get rid of the column headers other than making a custom list?
I have a task list that has a single-line text column, a Status column and a Modified By column (among others). It appears that the default view has the single-line text column taking up all the room it can, making the status and modified by column go to 2-line formatting. I'd like to force the Status and Modified By columns to display on only one line, and let the single-line text go to 2-lines if it needs to. How would I go about getting the single-line text column to lose priority for space? EDIT: I did the cheap fix of making the column names larger, but would like a better solution
I have a custom list created in SharePoint 2007 and displayed by a Content Query Web Part. I would like to: Show all items to general admin users except those items created by two users. The two admin users need to see all items in the list. The first requirement is easily done by adding a filter to the view on the Created By field. The second one is where I need help - is there a way to set the view of a list based on the user logged in? Or is this achievable another way? Edit: I know I could add another page with another Content Query Web Part without a 'filtered' view and display
